Mabel "Dolly" Younglove Cassingham

Mabel Younglove born 1875 in Illinois. Died about 1958.
Married George W. Cassingham.

The following is a transcription of the handwritten notes of Mabel A. Younglove, which accompany a picture of the old Sabin family farm in Loran Township Illinois:
"My grandfather's farm and [the farm of] Harris Sabin my uncle-only son that lived-one boy died-five sisters lived-
[1] The youngest Ida died at twenty-
[2] Francis-she married John Kaurar-Lived Webster City, Iowa-
[3] Flora-married Henry Winters lived Atlantic, Iowa-
[4] Ellen-married Woods Graham lived Freeport, Illinois-
[5] Mary Ann-married Gilbert Younglove lived near her parents on farm until after her six children were of school age-when father' s health failed and he went to Florida and the family moved into Freeport and later to Gainesville, Florida. We lost Mother two years later and father three years after that married Alice Miller who was engaged to Edgar my oldest brother who died five months after Mother. They had two sons-youngest died at seven years of age. The other lived and married a Gainesville Florida girl. They had no children.
"My two brothers married-one a Savannah Georgia girl and had several children, that was Charley. The younger one Luther went back to Freeport, Illinois-married and settled there. My oldest sister married a Gainesvillian-died a few years later and no heirs. I married a man in Coshocton, Ohio-George W. Cassingham. Youngest sister married a Gainesville, Florida man and had three children . . . . They are married and all living-and all have children. Sister' s husband was John W. McDowall. His two sons were John W. and Luther G.-sister 'Mary Dorothy'-she married Paul Wagner who died and later married Harry Herlin. John W. married Sally Magruder [sic]-one daughter Sarah-married J. Blake-one son. Luther married Ethel Pope-has two sons and two daughters-Eleanor, John, Anne, Jimmy."
From the reference to the one Blake son, we can deduce that the notes were written sometime between October, 1950 and February, 1952. Therefore, "Aunt Dolly" would have been about 78 years old when the notes were written.

Copied as written
Jan 9,1880

On Saturday last the news of the death of Francis Younglove, of Virginia reached us. Mr. Younglove was subject to falling fits and in one of these terrible spasms he breathed his last. He moved from this town last spring to Virginia where he was to engage in the lumber trade. His family have a large number of sympathizing friends here as Mr. Younglove was loved and respected by all who knew him, as an honest, upright man in all his dealings, and at all times a friend of the poor. Many a man in this town who is now well-to-do, can remember his kindness in helping them along, and well may they say, "He was my friend." We understand Mr. Y left a large estate in Virginia, the result of his labors.
